The Eudora Welty Library, named after the Pulitzer Prize-winning native of Jackson, Mississippi, is the central branch of the Hinds Library system. Within the library is the Mississippi Writer's Room, a multimedia room that features works and scholarly analysis of the plethora of writers who have roots in the area. The library is located just west of the Foote Hospital, near the Jackson Amtrak Station.
