A diverse collection of living creatures, natural specimens and informative exhibits at the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science celebrate the state's rich biological ecosystems both on land and in water. Aquarium displays are one of the museum's particular strengths, with an impressive greenhouse holding a range of plant and animal life as well as indoor water tanks filled with amphibians and fish. The museum covers regional history dating back to the prehistoric era of dinosaurs to species surviving today in both indoor displays and outdoor nature areas. It is located next to LeFleur's Bluff State Park just a few miles northeast of downtown.
