Built in the classic Beaux Arts style, the Mississippi State Capitol was originally designed by Theodore Link in 1903, but went through a series of renovations in the late 1970s. Visitors can peer up 180 feet to the top of the capitol's dome and gaze upon the brightly illuminated portrayals of Justice and depictions of the history of the state. The capitol is located across the street from the Gartin Justice Building in the downtown area.
